The most memorable thing or something stands out in my mind this week of class is finishing the base of my box. I still have to complete details but, I really like the direction I'm going in. I think my box really represents me so I can't wait to finish it. What was surprising or unexpected this week was the questions we had to answer in art class. The unexpected thing was not in class but at home I really thought about someone else that's only a few hours from where I live. It was a scary but good thing to see a different perspective.
Relevance:
The article we got in art about community art. I think that was the most useful idea discussed in class this week. I feel that really helped me and it really ties into our project. I get a little background on what we need to do to get in touch with the community. I think the article, Is can relate to because she made a timeline and I also do that. I also thought her grammar was very well thought out, I can also learn from that. One example that illustration cited in this week's work is my box. Iv'e been working on it for awhile. I like how it turned out because of the color I think it reflects my personality. Sea blue has always been my favorite color.
Conceptual Connections:
The relationship that I saw between this class week and other topics Iv'e learned before is during the blood and crips video. I thought back to sophomore year, My humanities teacher at the time had us watch videos of people in a genocide. I felt like both were a genocide in some way. It made me look at peoples lives in different perceptive. One discussion in class that seemed connected is the discussion about the blood and crips. I could get a lot of my questions answered.

We watched a ted talk that I think was really going to play a part in our interviews. We haven't really talked about the video we watched any further, but I really hope we do. I think is would be a great topic to talk about and try to tie that into the interviews. One example is when the guy leading the ted talk, talks about how meaningful and heart to heart these conversations are to people. He also says that its very pure which led me into my art piece. I wanted to make sure my picture grasps just two hearts talking, just like having a pure conversation.

The relationship that I saw between this class week and other topics is iv'e never since anything like this. What this guy wants to achieve is very outside the box. I really enjoyed watching the video. One discussion topic that I enjoyed talking about in the past two weeks was in Dr.C's class when we talked about punishment and sexuality. I saw a totally different way of these too topic's. I think growing up in my house my family and I have always been very openminded. Hearing about kids that face something different in their household is hard to wrap my brain around.

The most memorable thing or something stands out in my mind this week of class is finishing my ten drawings in art class. Even though I had to redraw my art at least three times I'm glad I did. Every time I did it again it improved so in the end I was pretty proud of my end project. One thing that was surprising or unexpected this week was the video's in English class. I loved the short clips representing different people. For example when they had meeting on what to change the names of people that they couldn't pronounce. The unexpected thing was in art class when we had to draw a picture for our partner and share it in front of the class. I really didn't think we were going to have to share it in front of everyone, but I liked it. I also liked to see what everyone made.

Additional Thoughts:
What happen this week was I really worked on my personal statement. I really wanted to share this in my blog post because I'm very proud of my process. When I first started my personal statement didn't really fit what I was going for. Then I sat down with dr.C she really opened my eyes and pushed out more thoughts of what I wanted to do. Now looking back on my end product I am very proud. There is always room for improvement but at this point i'm pretty proud. I think the most difficult part of this week was trying to start a new personal statement it was pretty challenging to have an attention grabber.
Conceptual Connections:
Some relationship that I saw between this weeks work and other work I have done in the past is the mural. Doing so brought me back all the way to freshman year. We had to create something that would take incarceration everyone's ideas. Which is a lot of work, It's very hard to make sure everyone is heard and also the idea works with what everyone wants.
Analysis:
I perceive the major purpose of this week to get in touch with the community. I think we totally blew this out of the water by having a community meeting. I didn't have the chance to go but I got to hear from my other classmates and they said that they really enjoyed going. They said that made such great connections with the people that were there. I also really enjoyed seeing the interviews that we did record and see in class. I think we really hit home with getting in touch.
