I have seen so many communication from the employees and my mentors while working here so far. It has taken a big consideration on the way I work in groups. I don't think I ever worked bad in groups before but I feel at least now I tend to be less frustrated then I did before. I have also noticed a sense of responsibility here on the farm. You have a pretty free schedule so it can be hard to get to work at times. I feel everyone at the farm is giving 100 percent effort so you always have to match the effort being put in by others. I think this comes naturally by the employees here.
The plan or thing I am going to create is a childrens garden at Wild Willow farm. There is already a childrens farm but there is much to do done. I would need some transplanting skills and also learning to start from seed and grow something. I think I would need some support from staff to see what I should start to plant in the garden and what will grow in this season.
I just wonder about my internship if there are things I need to do day to day that are expected of me. Something funny that has happened is the goats like to eat my hair all the time, and also one of the goats can "fly" because he can hop over the gate. Ive learned that the organization's purpose is to educate people in growning their own food or buying local grown food. Some new skils I have picked up on have been growning food in genral, I understand what envoriment it takes to grow food in and also what to do to make that happen. chicks
Something that shocks me about most about my workplace is how big it is. I never knew how big the farm was to begin with, but after seeing it and had a tour of the place I was really surpised. Something that strikes me about my colleagues is how well they get along together. One other important is how passionate they are about there work and what they do at the farm. Something that strikes me about what we are doing is who it's affecting. Also how it bring such a huge community together. Something I am exicted about is making a small difference at the farm. Even just to help clean it up or add more crops. I'm worried making sure I keep up with these blog post's.
